Spending for days in Tuyen Quang city with many learning activities, practicing One Health core competencies to control zoonotic diseases and food safety hygiene issues. The comrade Tran Hai Nam - Head of sub department of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine shared with the students about the situation of epidemic prevention in the locality as well as challenges in Rabies prevention. Next, the comrade Tran Nhat Thang – lecturer of faculty also taught students about One health concept, its core competencies. Planning to monitor and evaluate the incidence of rabies, avian influenza, anthracis for livestock herds in Tuyen Quang city, applying some One health’s core competencies such as system thinking, risk analysis, communication and information into the monitoring and management of infectious and zoonotic diseases.
In particular, students have divided in different groups and went to village households to know the situation of dog husbandry, keeping dogs and other knowledge about rabies of local people. In addition, the students vaccinated for dogs in the locality as well as also instructed for households how to handle when dogs bite.
End of 4 days activity, more knowledge about practicing One health core competencies have been realized and applied. Therefore, in the coming time, Thai Nguyen university of Agriculture and Forestry and One health Project will continue to organize more meaningful activities with more field trip activity so that students can apply flexible One health core competencies into the field.
